Gold Key/Dell Comics

Star-Trek-Gold-Key Star-Trek-Gold-Key

Created in 1962, Gold Key Comics was an imprint of Western Publishing created for comic books sold at newsstands.
It's was like crazy awesome fun for those of us kids reading late into the evening, under the sheets with a flashlight. Never read any of the Star Trek stores, but I really like this cover. Epecially the usage of the shapes, the typography and the little space ship zipping across the top.

Colonel the dog

Colonel the dog Colonel the dog

This mighty young pup is the new addition to our family.
He's such a cool little french bulldog, with so much character. The name Colonel reminded me of early Wanner Brothers cartoons, which an aggressive named animal is later to be relieved as a little tiny dog with a mighty tough attitude and very determined to always be successful in everything he does.
As soon as we saw him, we didn't have to think about it. We knew Colonel was a great name.
